PhoneReset Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Overview
PhoneReset is designed as a privacy-first iPhone cleanup app. The app helps users review photo and contact cleanup suggestions, such as screenshots, large videos, blurry photos, receipts, WhatsApp media, duplicate contacts, and empty contacts.
Data the App Accesses
With your permission, PhoneReset may access your Photos library and Contacts so it can identify cleanup suggestions. This access is requested through Apple system permission prompts. You can decline access, grant limited access where iOS supports it, or revoke access later in iOS Settings.
How Data Is Used
Photo and contact information is used to provide the app's cleanup features. Examples include estimating file sizes, identifying screenshots and videos, detecting duplicate or similar items, reading local metadata, and preparing review queues before deletion. The app does not use Photos or Contacts data for advertising, marketing profiles, contact databases, resale, or third-party data sharing.
On-Device Processing
PhoneReset performs cleanup analysis on device using Apple system APIs. Photo and contact scan results are not uploaded to a PhoneReset server, and PhoneReset does not require a user account or custom cloud backend to run cleanup scans.
Data Collection
PhoneReset does not intentionally collect personal information through its own servers. The app may store local preferences on your device, such as cleanup settings, last cleanup date, total space reclaimed, saved review choices, and purchase entitlement state. These values are stored locally to keep the app useful between sessions.
Third Parties
PhoneReset uses Apple services and frameworks, including Photos, Contacts, Vision, UserDefaults, and StoreKit. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. PhoneReset does not sell user data and does not share Photos or Contacts data with analytics tools, advertising networks, or data brokers.
Purchases
PhoneReset uses Apple StoreKit for subscriptions and lifetime purchases. Payment processing, subscription management, refunds, and purchase history are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy practices.
Retention and Deletion
Photo and contact scan data is transient and used to power the current app experience. Local preferences remain on your device until you change them, reset them in the app, delete the app, or erase app data through iOS. Deleted photos and contacts are handled by iOS and may remain recoverable for a limited time depending on Apple system behavior, such as Recently Deleted albums.
Revoking Consent
You can revoke Photos or Contacts permission at any time in the iOS Settings app. You can also delete PhoneReset from your device to remove locally stored app data associated with the installation.
Children's Privacy
PhoneReset is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not provide user accounts, social features, public profiles, or direct messaging.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the app changes. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.
